Rehearsal dinner ideas and inspiration
Ali and Marcus’ beautiful Rehearsal Dinner at Park Winters in Winters, California paid homage to their time living in Mexico. During one of our first design meetings with Ali and Marcus, we learned that they had spent a year living in Oaxaca, Mexico. While there, they fell in love with the culture, the people, Mezcal and each other! As we heard the stories from their time in Oaxaca, it became clear that this time in their lives was very special to them. We decided that incorporating a latin theme into their rehearsal dinner would be a great way to personalize the event and tie their story into the design.
We started by pulling together the bright color palette of fuchsia, turquoise, mustard, and orange.
I knew from the very beginning of putting this design together that I wanted to use the Isabella napkin rings from Theoni Collection. I had been eyeing those beautiful little “pom-poms” since I had first seen them a few years before. This project came along and it was finally the right time to pitch them! From there, we found the most perfect menu cards from Minted which had a gorgeous floral motif and also matched the color palette perfectly. The place settings were quickly coming together. Next, I sourced the beaded jade chargers from BBJ Linen. Lastly, I incorporated a mix of linens; runners from BBJ Linen and napkins from La Tavola Fine Linen, to finish off the table design.

Florals always play such an important part in event design and this project was not exception.
Erin of Scarlett and Grace provided stunning florals that filled the tables with color, texture, and interest. She always goes above and beyond for our clients and her designs blow us away, time and time again.
I had the idea to use terra cotta pots for place cards and thankfully I was able to get Lamplight Lettering on board to hand calligraphy the names. Aren’t they cute?
As an event planner, I’m always looking to come up with fresh ideas for my projects.
For this particular event, I envisioned having a beautifully styled salsa bar. I wanted to showcase the delicious work of Park Winters’ catering team, lead by executive chef Gabriel Glasier. So, I sourced wooden bowls, turquoise jugs and wicker baskets from Homegoods. While Scarlett and Grace designed the floral arrangements, Nikki of Lamplight Lettering created the terra cotta signage. Then we placed everything on a rustic round table from Theoni Collection. After seeing everything together, I was very happy with the final result. And yes, that guac was as good as it looks.
