We are going to show you how to properly plan, design and host a Pinterest-worthy tea party of you own
As busy as we all are, it is nearly impossible to see our girlfriends as much as we would like. I’m lucky if I can grab a coffee, let alone a whole meal, with my besties. Everyone is busy with work, carpooling, kids’ activities, and balancing the million other things they need to do. But every once in a while, we need to make sure we take some time to slow down, hang with friends, and spend some time catching up. A tea party is the perfect way to celebrate a day with your girls. Our event planning team at KMK Design recently designed a tea party for a local Sacramento client.

Invitations are the perfect jumping off point for any event
Whether you choose to send out traditional paper invites or an online email, the invitation sets the theme and mood for your party. For our recent tea party, we chose a really “girly” floral design from Minted. We also used the same suite for menu cards and signage. If you opt for an online invitation option, I love Paperless Post. They are really well designed and you can also keep track of your RSVP’s right on their site. A win-win for someone looking to save money and make the RSVP process as easy as possible for guests. Plus, they are really pretty!

Our invitations gave us the perfect color palette to design everything else around. Coral and mint became the stars! We sourced gorgeous table linens and napkins from La Tavola Fine Linens and tabletop accessories from Celebrations Party Rentals.

We designed the personalized mugs in house. The tea mugs were the perfect place cards that also doubled as guest favors. Every guest loves a good favor and I love anything that pulls double duty! We were able to match the font on the mugs perfectly with the font on all of the menu cards. Good design is always in the details.

You want to make sure you set up a central tea station with assorted teas, sweeteners, cream, lemon, and hot water. For some fun options, we included some honey dipped spoons and organic rock sugar sticks. Smaller water carafes were placed on the dining table for refills.
We wanted to make sure that once all of the guests were seated, they wouldn’t have to get up again

What’s a tea party without tea sandwiches and sweet bites?
We asked our favorite local chef, The Ginger Chef, to put together some sandwich tiers for us. He whipped up some delicious gourmet options, including vegetarian options. A good assortment of items ensured that each guest would have an option that would be to their liking. We also had an assortment of scratch made scones and desserts from Karen’s Bakery. You need a good mix of sweet and savory goodies for a proper tea.

We filled classic silver flower vases with florals in varying shades of coral and lots of greenery. I’m a big fan of texture, so we incorporated as much as possible. My favorite flower we used was the Cockscomb. It came in the perfect shade of coral. I wanted a whimsical, organic look and I think they turned out beautifully.

Now that you know all of the details to create the perfect Tea Party, you are all set to start planning. Or, you can call us and we can take care of the planning for you!
